I have been diagnosed with acute coronary syndrome manifesting as unstable angina. I feel a tightness in my heart area and sharp pains when at rest. I smoked for about fifteen years but have been off for 5. Anyway, is this a permanent condition? Can it go away? My echo and ECG show that my heart muscles are slightly larger than normal and the exterior muscles surrounding the heart is thickening. There is also a thickening of the vein/ artery that carries blood to the heart. What needs to be done to reduce the thickness and rtestore my heart to proper functioning.
Does procoralan effect cardiac output/exercise performance like a beta blocker? If an athlete takes it should he worry if it will effect any performance?
I have aortic valve stenosis - In USA as of now my option is sugery, I have had two open chest surgery (esophagus tumor and bypass) and would rather have a non invasive operation if valve replacement is necessary. As of now I have a echo done every 6 months to see if stenosis is closing. I have no symptoms (swollen ankles, shortness of breath, weight gain) but according to cardiologist it is only a matter of time. I am looking at options to surgery.
