Obese patients are always at risk of getting ischemic heart disease because of fatty plaques narrowing their coronary vessels. Physicians will now be able to predict the incidence of ischemic heart diseases among obese patients through a newer technique in the form of stress Cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) imaging, which is quite different from the alternative imaging techniques in the form of PET and SPECT which are more expensive and expose the patient to a greater dose of radiations as compare to Stress CMR imaging.
