Coronory artery disease

Sir, my father is a army personnel, so he used to drink daily nn also he started smoking from last 2 years . he is posted in extreme cool area off india in kashmir . he has a heart attack this march suddenly he admitted to i.c.u after 7 days he sent to delhi for angiography there it found that he has 35% to 40% blockage, thereafter doctors suggested us to not to go for angioplasty , they can cure this one with medicine only , they has given metroprolol,aspirin, atrovastatin . he is taking these medicines from last 2 month,  mm asking to you is that can he now be able to led his normal life , or is there any other risk involved in future . please suggest if he had an attack again what to do then since hospitals are very far away from my home .. suggest me doc.
